Many children were orphaned by the genocide that swept Rwanda in 1994. Over the years, Steven has gathered homeless, orphaned young people into a familial community. We want to assist them in establishing a poultry project that would help to sustain them.
HOW WE ARE HELPING
Steven and the community have proposed a POULTRY PROJECT which would go a long way toward achieving sustainability. We are helping to make this a reality.
HOW YOU COULD HELP
1. Initial start up capital - The project needs to construct a shed to house the project - the budget for the shed is $3000 (£2000).
2. First batch of 400 laying chicks - The cost per chick is $2.50 so the total cost is $1000 (£650).
3. 10% Adiministrative costs - this $400 allows us to collect and disburse the funds.
Within a year this project would be generating almost $500 per month - enough to completely transform their lives. We have already raised $525 - please consider helping us make it all the way!
To give to new projects we would like to help the widows and orphans start, people in the UK can go to our homepage and use the donate button. U.S. donors can make checks out to: "Go the Second Mile," designate the check for "Friends of Steven: chicken project," and mail it to 14800 First Avenue NE, Shoreline WA 98155.
